The Volunteer group that supports St. Anthony's Hospital experienced some holiday cheer this past Christmas season. Thanks to a Holiday Gift Basket promotion, jointly sponsored by Re:sourxe by Sodexo and 1800Flowers.com, the Fund is now some $1700 richer! Pictured with a few of the baskets are Josee Kirmuss, Re:sourxe store supervisor, and volunteer Dorothy Baron.

The Re:sourxe shop, one of nine nationwide shops, has been open for just over five months in St. Anthony's a 270-bed hospital coated in the Denver suburb of Lakewood. Volunteers programs, such as gift basket promotions and special events, are part and parcel to the Re:sourxe brand. "We believe Volunteers are major stakeholders in a hospital community. At St. Anthony's, the work of Volunteers, throughout the years, has been amazing. Programs such as this are another source of revenue for them," says Jennifer Thomspson, Re:sourxe Senior Director.

In the Re:sourxe model, the roles and responsibilities of the volunteers are extensive or selective as each volunteer desires. Since paid retail staff will be present during all operating hours of the store, volunteers can choose to work the hours they prefer and select the tasks in which they would like to participate. Volunteers are encouraged to feel a sense of ownership in all aspects of the store operation. "With their past experience, Volunteers can serve as advisors to better service a hospital's patient, employee and customer base," adds Jennifer.
